For The Road Without Craters...

The day when I had come to mumbai was one of the most memmorable, rather unforgettable, ones. It was 26th July 2005... It rained heavily and I couldn't actually make out where the city land ends and where exactly the Arabian sea, which I had seen so many times in maps and wanted to see it for real, starts. What followed then was all the media, the so called pillar of democracy, alleging BMC of being careless for allowing the encroachments going into the Mithi river...

The BMC then announced a project worth thousands of crores for Monsoon Preparedness and gave it a lot of publicity... The next year same thing happened... Although it never rained as much as 26th July, BMC told that they were not ready yet...

Since then every year during the months of March, April, May the BMC Advertises its preparedness to media and during the months of June, July, August, and even Sept., the Media gives sensationalized account of How BMC failed to keep its promises...

The common man of Mumbai, for whom everything is happening, is too busy catching the 8:38 local, swerving around and watching out potholes on roads, dying in the bomb blasts and terrorist shoot-outs and doing the paraphrenalia to care about these things... For him, Life goes on...

Its not like he doesn't care, he wants to and he does... but deep down he knows his caring won't change anything, because SUB MILEY HUEY HAIN..., PURA SYSTEM HI CORRUPT HAIN..., and the worst of all... KAREY TO KAREY KYA...???

He discusses these matters with his pals angrily, crankily, sarcastically... Updates his statuses on FB... Writes blogs and tweets... Joins groups, creates causes on causes.com and wants to bring about THE CHANGE... But doesn't really know what the answer of the question is... KAREY TO KAREY KYA..?!

He knows that he deserves better treatment both inside and outside the various govt offices, deserves better roads, pure water supply, continuous power supply, gutters and drainages which actually drain; In essence, as a citizen of India, He Deserves a Good Life....

But he doesn't know how to get it..? He doesn't know where to go if the babu at office asks him some Chai - Pani because Anti Corruption ppl don't entertain him until he has money and/or power or they hv something personal against the babu... Worse, he doesn't feel protected and safe...
It is much simpler to stick a note or a bundle of'em upon someones hands...

So only ways to get good life are to get more money and/or be born in the powerful family... The latter is beyond his control, so he runs after the first... hungrily, greedily, desperately, hopelessly, viciously.... not knowing where he is headed, not caring how it is coming.... Because it is the only thing that will get him what he wants... Good Life... PAISA KHUDA TO NAHIN, LEKIN KHUDA SE KUM BHI NAHIN...

So he cares but carelessly...
He wants to stop it but he actually runs it...
He wants to eradicate the corruption but he is the nourishing the roots of corruption...
He wants to solve the dillemma but he is the dillemma...

BINGO...!!
Here comes the answer to the question...

If he wants to care, he SHOULD CARE...
If he wants to stop it he should STOP RUNNING IT...
If he wants to eradicate it, he should STOP NOURISHING THE ROOTS OF IT....

The Only Way of Living A Good Life Is LIVING IT SO....

And to do it so, He MUST TAKE A STAND.... That he shall not be corrupt anymore...
That he shall not let corrupts be...
That he shall fight a war against corruption...
RTI was his first weapon in this war... LOKEPAL is next.....
Why carry A sword if it is rusty at the blade and sharp at the hilts, that will hurt you more than your enemy...

This Independence Day... Be INDEPENDENT...

Be part of India Against Corruption...

Not for the country...
Not for the fellow Indians
But,
For the ROAD WITHOUT CRATERS...
For the WATER WITHOUT CONTAMINATION...
For the POWER WITHOUT CUTS...
For YOURSELF....

Condemn the Govt. Lokepal bill

Support a Strong Lokepal...

United We Stand, Divided We Fall.....

khamoshi

Read this beautiful sher today...
Meri khamoshi ka raz mujhe khud nahi malum...
Na jane kyun log mujhe maghroor samjhte hai...
(I don't know why I am silent most of the times... Don't know why people consider me arrogant ...)
