To Be or Not To Be

Living on the edge is an audacity of hope. It is a painful perilous journey that hurts every moment of its duration & comes with an almost guaranteed failure. It is the hope that it will be worth it when you arrive at the destination that inspires you to bear that pain, to face that peril. But the conflict between head & heart, the eternal dilemma of whether to continue or to give up on your desires & fall back, consumes your conscious & subconscious existence & tires you, giving you second thoughts.

This is the moment of truth. The moment that will ask you to be or not to be. Your decision at this juncture will define your life.

On one side of this moment are your failed efforts to realize your dreams, the anguish of those failures. The unforgiving reality holding a mirror in your face & telling you to think rationally & do what seems right - to yourself & everyone else - to quit! To give up on this way & start a new journey along a path that is safe, secure and easy.

On other side is irrational idealism. The magnificence of achieving something great.. The grandeur of making possible which has been deemed impossible. Your pride & honour asking you not to quit. Your heart telling you that no matter how successful you become Taking that safe & easy path; it will always be your biggest failure that will eclipse  all other failures-that you gave up! Your  endurance asking you to lurch & limp along this arduous edge no matter how sinister your failures are.

The decision is easy when one of the roads leads surely to success & other leads to failures. But it is not so when both the ways are equally failing. Your knowledge is equally meager & ignorance enormous about these uncharted ways. What to do when you face only such crossroads in your life. What to do when in your life story you are neither a hero nor a villain but a bit of both & a bit of none. What is the meaning of living a life where life has no obligation to give you a meaningful existence.

Of course all questions cannot be answered. But again it is the answers of these unrequited rhetorics that matter most - As these are the answers  that decide whether you will be or you will not be!!!
